    Road 96 and fire watch I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks afterwards I even replayed road 96 right after beating it because I couldn’t handle the fact that it was over

    I personally don’t agree with the first showcasing of terraria being a wiki game(unless we’re talking about mods, I can understand the pain😢) since it technically has an npc that tells every single recipe in the game as long as you give him an item that is involved in the recipe

    35:50 Izaac could try playing Dragon Nest game(but dont play official ones, play fan made plugins that remove p2w features etc0 but even that game sadly has tons of grinding

    15:26 The thing is, unfortunately there arent many proper rpgs, and anything that has add ons to rpg, like JRPG or MMORPG is instantly NOT a proper rpg, stuff like Fallout 1,2,NV, Vampire Maquerade is proper rpgs and they're still somewhat rare gems in their genres

    10:47 FINALLY SOME DRAGON NEST REP! Tis was also probably my first mmo, or maybe DDTank was first. Man even to this day it has its upsides but DAWG, the grind just made me quit it eventually. Then I came back to play, ahem, "unofficial" versions of the game that had less p2w elements, and I did stay for a decent bit but then kinda fell off from the game and duno if I want to come back. The thing is, MMO's feel like an unholy combination of grinding from gacha games and real life work. Alot of times it felt like you only play MMO as a work, which is fine if you were a kid, but as college'uni student or full time worker....yeeee the mmo appeal quickly fell off

    A key thing about terreria you forgot is how confusing crafting is and god forbid you have everything right but you forgot one resource so it doesnt show up so you try everything else

    and its crazy how there are players who remember every, single item, how to craft it, what to do to get it, the chances of a single enemy dropping it, and every single mechanic of the game

    I mean like you dont need one for all those games. Except Minecraft is flawed and if I handed a 12 year old the game who has never seen Minecraft before they would take years to finish the game.

    games back in the day also needed a wiki, in fact, games like final fantasy came together with a guide(or had official guides in magazines you had to buy), but because lots of people played those games trough emulators they never had access to it. So yeah the argument that games only now have wikis is not exactly true at all( tho even people who actually played those old complex games on the original release may also reach to those conclusions because they were 5-6 year olds who probably just did not read the manual of the games at all)

    Good video😊... My first true MMORPG was (unsurprisingly) RuneScape, what is today "Old School RuneScape". I learned about it tru a classmate at school and I liked it😊 but OH BOY nowadays, RuneScape is too grindy even with all the EXP boost help.😢😢😢.... The magic is not as flashy as in other MMORPGs and I lack that shine😂

    For me, Minecraft was literally unplayable without a wiki before they put teh recipes right in the game itself. It was either that or watch a 100 chapter series by some pedo would-become-stresmer youtuber and memorize all the recipes like the rest of the kids

    I feel like this idea of "not wanting to miss out on anything" is kinda ruining these experiences for players. Mostly because the people who play these games with extensive use of guides and wikis without thinking for themselves, actually do miss out on something very important; their own journey. A lot of these games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls are not meant to be fully completed, they are meant to be experinced first and foremost.

    I just beat Elden Ring for the first time and now I'm here. I don't even like Fromsoft games that much. I never beat Outer Wilds because the dose of PMD I felt coming was too big to face. Probably one of my biggest. I may never beat it.

    I figured out a fun solution to these games during my first playthrough of terraria: you simply are only allowed to look something up if you know what it's called. For example, when I was playing for the first time I couldn't look up "what is the strongest sword in terraria", but once I knew it was called the Zenith THEN I was allowed to look into it With this ruleset, the wiki becomes less of a place to say "hey wtf am I doing please send help" and more of your own personal research book; the more you discover about the game, the more information you can allow yourself to look up. It was actually really convenient and fun for me; I was slowly gaining an idea of how to progress through the game, but I still had plenty of classic newbie moments (such as going two real-world MONTHS without ever getting a grappling hook, I wish I was kidding) Best of both worlds imo

    Geralt and his friends in The Witcher 3, with its expansions, particularly Blood and Wine. Arthur, John, and the gang in Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. The Last of Us Part 1 (Stopped playing Part 2 the second Joel RIP'd to make room for a shoehorned same sex romance journey so I have no strong feelings towards part 2). Jin Sakai and his friends in Ghost of Tsushima. Kyle Crane in Dying Light (finished 2 but didnt really enjoy it, so never got those same post game feelings i got from the 1st game). The Fallout 3 ending, back before the Broken Steel DLC added onto the story. I was in 6th grade, yep im almost 30 amd still get these feelings). And very very recently, Baldurs Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 with its Phantom Liberty DLC, put me in a weird depressive mindset after finishing them. I have a full time job, a fiance I've been with for 5 years, I get out and hang out with family, friends, etc. I have a life. But nevertheless, finishing these games did absolutely make me depressed. You get so attached to these characters. It's even worse when, with characters like Geralt in TW3, Kyle Crane in Dying Light, perhaps Jin in Ghost of Tsushima, John Marston and Arthur Morgan in RDR, and most likely V in Cyberpunk, you know their story is most likely *OVER* and you won't be seeing them in a new setting with a new story *EVER* again. And if the off chance you do it'll be a *LONG LONG* time from now. I remember RDR 2 and TW3 B&W absolutely messed with me inside after finishing. You finish the game, with Arthur dead, and you resume playing as John, who you know will be dead himself within the next few years. He's enjoying his time with his family, but us old geezers who played the first game in 2010, it's a bitter sweet ending and is absolutely depressing. Or Geralt sitting with his old pal Regis, having a drink and talking about what they will do now. Geralt seeing Yen, Triss, or Ciri at his vinyard and rapping it all up. Going to Kaer Moren and its empty. No Vesimir, no Lambert, or Eskel. All the side quests are done, all the main monsters have been slained... It's crushing for those of us who grew attached to their characters and spent hours upon hours with them. I've finished TW3 and its expansions at least 10 times since 2015. 😂 And every single time i get that feeling of grief when the credits roll, without fail. These feelings are elevated when you realize that you can *never* experience these stories or gameplay for the first time ever again 😔 My girl isnt super big on gaming, *BUT* she can relate to me by having those same exact feelings about the series she watches. She told me she felt depressed when she finishes shows. Especially those that were long running and are officially over, never to have new episodes. I watched The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and The 100 with her over the years and we both had post show depression after they were over.

    Ehh you dont really need a wiki to play minecraft

  • @chineseman6580
    @chineseman6580 7 місяців тому

    I would not include Terraria on that list nor Stardew Valley. You don’t need the wiki to beat the game buts it’s helpful in certain areas for obtaining rare items or 100% the game.

    • @chineseman6580
      @chineseman6580 7 місяців тому

      The whole point of Stardew Valley is that there’s so much depth and variety. You are not supposed to know the 100+ liked gifts of every single villager and since your not supposed to know every detail by design and the fact that the game is still functional without you needed all that knowledge me and your entire point is invalid. The first point is valid and it’s why Minecraft sucks. You’re not told how any of the basic mechanics work or what your supposed to be doing. The game should tell you how to beat it and the wiki tells you how to 100% it.

    Just finished Cyberpunk 2077 with its best ending. Tha game was a part of my childhood, meaning, i was the trailer when I was like 8 when it came out and I distinctly remember watching it with my cousin. Now I'm a sophomore in college and I finally bought the game with my money and finished it (in 4 days) and I feel like shit I had the best ending but I feel so bad I dont know what to do. I love the game but it sucks it sucks so bad

    Getting into Vshoujo is arguably much harder than hololive. All of the vshoujo talents are massive well known names in the industry, whereas there are small creators who got into hololive. Bijou (one of the recently debuted EN talents) had less followers than you do now on her previous account. Rather than a traditional vtuber agency, vshoujo is more like a friend group of super popular streamers. all of the new talents they've added were already good friends with the vshoujo girls beforehand. There's nothing wrong with this way of doing it, it's just not feasible to get into vshoujo as small streamer.
